BulletWho can Apply?

Individuals who are competing at Representative Level at School, Club, Regional, National or International Level and who are under the age of 18 can apply to the Trust for financial assistance. All applicants must reside within the TD1 postal code area.

BulletWhat Funding is Available?

The Trustees operate an Award Scheme, helping to meet the needs of sporting individuals who are competing at Representative Level at School, Club, Regional, National or International Level.

The Trust will consider supporting competition costs outwith the athlete's normal competition or training schedule, travel costs, accommodation, specialist equipment and training courses.

Award Scheme funding of 50% of the total claim, up to a maximum of the amounts listed below, is available.  

  • £500 for Team GB Athletes selected by NGB
  • £300 for International Level Athletes selected by SGB
  • £250 for Regional Athletes selected by the relevant organisation
  • £150 for Club Performers seeking to attend a development activity
  • £75 for School Performers seeking to attend a development related activity

Who We Help

Alice Hainings

Alice Haining (18) was awarded £4,000 at a recent meeting of the Rowan Boland Memorial Trust. The Grant is a four-year legacy to help Alice with her expenses while she aspires to achieve her dream of competing in the 2016 Olympic Games. Her event is Canoe Slalom and she has recently completed a rigorous winter training programme. She is in great shape as she starts the new season's competitions.

During 2012 Alice aims to compete in 15 events, including 3 Olympic Selection Races and 9 GB Selection Races ranging from U18 to Senior level. Alice is a dedicated young athlete with a remarkable talent and the Rowan Boland Memorial Trust is proud to support her on her journey.
